WHY BELLA DOLCE
Why this shop exists
For years, finding the olive oil I wanted, or a dress that was made properly, meant a drive to Hamilton or Toronto, and even then it was hit and miss. So I started bringing it here myself.
Everything I carry is made in Italy. Both my parents were born in Calabria and I grew up with all of it, so I know the difference and I am not willing to sell you something that only looks the part.
I also keep the shop deliberately small. You will not find fifteen versions of the same thing here, you will find the one I would keep for myself, whether that is a platter, a dress, or the oil I cook with every day. When something new arrives it is because I tried it and thought you should have it too.

I run Bella Dolce from Norfolk County, where I live with my family and three dogs who are no help at all with the packing. I speak Italian, I still have family and friends there, and this shop grew out of missing things I could not buy close to home.
